What can't you put on a toothpick?

So, a club I am in (the Lansing Jr. Woman's Club) held a fundraiser recently. It was a vendor event with tables of consultants for at home parties like Pampered Chef, crafters, jewelry makers, massage therapists, knitters and others. For a $5 admission, guests got a glass of punch and appetizers made by club members. There were a few different little finger foods and I was reminded how useful toothpicks are in creating party food. It helps you provide light little bites that don't require dishes or silverware. Here's three of the combinations they had:

1) cheese, grape tomato, summer sausage sprinkled with seasoning

2) turkey, grape tomato, cheese cube

3) strawberry, chocolate yogurt covered raisin, grape

One you get your mind going you can come up with lots of different combos. Such as:

bacon, lettuce, grape tomato, toast square
cheese and grapes
blueberries and cantaloupe
chicken, cheese, with a drizzle of barbecue sauce
golden raisins, honeydew melon, dusted with crushed pecans
bananas, strawberries with a little nutella spread on top
cheese cubes, pepperoni
grape tomatoes and pepperjack cheese
olives, cubed mozzarella, grape tomato
green pepper, red pepper, mushroom
roast beef, cheddar, rye bread cubes

The possibilities are endless. Do you have a favorite toothpick appetizer?
