Christmas dipped marshmallows

An easy treat that my boys enjoy making is chocolate dipped marshmallows. We just made a batch for a Halloween party that we went to, along with some dipped pretzels.

It's something that is so easy for young ones to help with.

Bag of marshmallows (I use the giant sized ones that from Aldi)
Chocolate melting discs (I get these at Walmart or Meijer. They also come in white chocolate and a variety of other colors.)
Decorative straws (I've gotten these at Walmart and JoAnn Fabrics)
Sprinkles for dipping

Melt your chocolate discs using a double-boiler method. Insert a straw into your marshmallow and dip in chocolate, then dip in sprinkles. It's that easy. Then lay on a wax paper lined cookie sheet for cooling.

While you are at it, you can also dip pretzels or cookies or fruit. :) It makes a lovely gift, a fun potluck dessert or a great classroom treat for a school party.
